Frozen Mojito cocktail or mocktail is an icy, refreshing, mint, lime, and rum drink. Best when enjoyed on a hot summer afternoon while lounging around the pool with friends.
Just looking at that picture of this icy frozen mojito makes me want to chill out with one. Farmer Fred isn’t a fan of sweet fruity drinks, so this minty, slightly sweet, slightly tart drink is one of his favorite frozen drink concoctions. I prefer the sweet fruity drinks myself. However, I make enough for two drinks and enjoy its refreshing flavor along with Farmer Fred on a hot afternoon.
What Makes This Frozen Mojito so Amazing?
The secret to a fantastic frozen mojito is fresh ingredients and a powerful blender: no preservatives or bottled mixes.
A blender powerful enough to turn ice into a slushy is vital. A ninja, a Blendtec, or a Vitamix all work well for frozen drinks.
Ingredients:
Freshly squeezed lime juice: Please don’t use the lime juice in a little green squeezable plastic bottle. You want the flavor to WOW your tongue. This means the lime juice has to be fresh.
Fresh Mint: The fresher, the better. Somehow mint that was picked a week ago and kept refrigerated doesn’t have the same bright minty taste as freshly picked. If you love frozen mojitos, consider growing a pot of mint. It is lovely to look at and delightful to pick it fresh whenever you need some.
Simple syrup: For how to make simple syrup, jump over to my simple syrup blog. The video also shows how to make simple syrup.
Ice and Alcohol: Alcohol is optional; ice is a must-have. If you are a mocktail person (like me), skip the Rum. This frozen mojito is every bit as good without the alcohol.
Now that you’ve made yourself a mojito. Find a shady spot in your garden or yard, sit down, relax, and discover how spending time out in your garden keeps your brain healthy.
